Sunstar Americas is pleased to announce the 2007 winners of the Sunstar/G.U.M. “Healthy Gums. Healthy Life” Award of Distinction.

Since 2002, the “Healthy Gums, Healthy Life" Award of Distinction has been awarded annually to eight leading dental hygienists in the United States.

The eight 2007 recipients met the following requirements:

• Made special efforts to help their patients live healthier lives through better oral care.
• Provided outstanding patient counseling to improve oral hygiene home care compliance.
• Contributed to their community and the dental hygiene profession.

Nomination ballots were reviewed by an independent panel judges (selected by RDH Magazine, co-sponsor of the award), who made the final selections.

The 2007 recipients were: Donna Grzegorek, Algonquin, IL Linda Bohacek, EauClaire, WI Diana Corbin, Sperryville, VA Judy Shimamoto, Marshall Islands Cynthia Dixon, Houston, TX Carol Lee, Sacramento, CA Sandra Berger, Freehold, NJ Millie Thaw, Deer Park, NY

Each winner was the special guest of Sunstar Americas at the 2007 “Under One Roof” RDH Magazine dental hygiene trade show in Washington, D.C. on August 2-4. There they were each presented with their awards and photographed to appear on the cover of the September 2007 issue of RDH Magazine.
